After 11 years of staying in a single family home in fremont,ca, it was time for a change. The very large house that I thought I had purchased was no longer big as I have 3 kids now and the occasional visit from relatives.
So started my quest - do I sell and buy another house or should I remodel and add space to my existing house. There has been a lot of construction activity in fremont and I decided to remodel my house and add sq footage. We are used to the neighborhood and new house = more property taxes.
Step 1: Figure out a budget.
